Parya Trillium Foundation’s goal is to have as much community involvement in the development of our programs as possible. To achieve this goal, a
number of committees have been created to brainstorm and develop ideas for future programming. These committees are made of Parya Board Members as
well as dedicated volunteers from the Iranian-Canadian community. These volunteers all have an interest or expertise in the fields of their community
and have offered their time and their ideas to improve and expand on Parya’s programs.
Art Committee:
The goal of the Art Committee is to make arts and culture accessible to the Iranian-Canadian community at large and to increase participation in
the arts.
Internal Management Committee
The Internal Management Committee overseas the day-to-day activities of the community centre, its staff and dedicated volunteers.
Scheduling Committee
Members of the Scheduling Committee review requests for facility bookings and determine if the requested events are in line with Parya’s goals,
values and overall objectives. They ensure that the events schedule runs smoothly.
Seniors Committee
Members of the Seniors Committee brainstorm ideas for activities and programs for Iranian-Canadian seniors who use Parya’s facilities, as well as
how to engage seniors who are not members of Parya.
Sport Committee
The Sport Committee seeks to increase the activity level of the Iranian-Canadian community by developing sports-related programs.
Women’s Issues Committee
The newest Parya Committee, the Women’s Issues Committee is currently being developed. It’s overarching goal is to ensure that Iranian-Canadian
women have a voice in how programs are developed and to ensure that the specific needs of newcomer/youth/senior women are met.
Youth Committee
The members of the Youth Committee are working to implement programs to ensure that Iranian-Canadian youth become engaged with their community and
develop into leaders of tomorrow.
