Yalda in Persian language means, the longest night of the year. For the third consecutive year Parya Foundation organized the celebration of Yalda Night, one of the most important Iranian cultural event on Saturday December 19th. 2009. This celebration coincided with the third anniversary of the opening of Parya Center.

On November 28^th, Parya Trillium Foundation -as the first Iranian Community Center in the York Region- participated in the 'Holidays in the Village' event hosted by York Regional Police.

The event took place from 3:00 to 7:00pm at the Community Safety Village on 3291 Stouffville Rd.
Parya’s participation received an immensely friendly and warm welcome from the hosts and families who came to enjoy the event. The programs included –but were not limited to- a visit from Santa, music performance by police officers & the younger children, and carriage rides.

بنیاد پریا به عوان نخستین مرکز اجتماعات جامعه ایرانی در منطقه یورک، از ساعت ٣ تا ٧ پس از نیمروز شنبه ۲۸ نوامبر در مراسم جشنی که از سوی پلیس این منطقه به مناسبت تعطیلات عید تولد حضرت عیسی مسیح و سال نوی میلادی در مرکز اجتماعات ایمنی این نیروی انتظامی برگزار شد، شرکت کرد.

حضور پریا با استقبال گرم و دوستانه برگزار کنندگان و همچنین خانواده هایی روبرو شد، که در این جشن شرکت کرده بودند.

برنامه ها از جمله شامل حضور بابانوئل، اجرای موسیقی توسط افراد پلیس و خردسالان، و کالسکه سواری بود.

تخته نرد - The second Backgammon Tournament of Parya Foundation was held on November 28 & 29 at Parya Centre. 23 players participated at this Tournament and in 3 groups they plyed 101game(7 set each), that means 715 hand of play. Tournament started at 11 AM on November 28 and the first round of the tournament finished at 9.15 PM. Second day started at 9 AM Sunday November 29, we managed to finish the final 4 games at 8 PM on Sunday29 (Total 21 hours). The final result of Tournament was:

First winner: Mr.Farrokhshad, Sharifpour $1500, Second winner: MrBahman Tahmoureszadeh $1000

Third winner: Mr.Behzad Malekzadeh $700, Fourth winner: Mr.Jamshid Dehmardan $400

سفر یک روزه - Algonquin Park Visit On Saturday October 03, Parya Trillium Foundation in cooperation with Toronto Iranians Group, organized a day trip to visit Algonquin Park. Algonquin's 7,725 square kilometres of forests, lakes, and rivers have assumed as one of the most spectacular places to visit in Fall.

On June 12, 2009 Honourable Michael Chan Minister of Immigration and Citizenship visited Parya trillium foundation. He become familiar with Parya’s facilities, activities, programs and services provided to our community. Honourable Michael Chan praised Parya for all the programs and its efforts to keep the doors open for our community.

On March 2009, at one of the ESL Classes at Parya Centre one of the Iranian-Canadian Social Workers of York Region present the information regarding how to improve and educate women's against domestic abuse.

Advisory Board Meeting of Parya Trillium Foundation was held on Sunday April 05-2009 at Parya Centre. During this meeting Mr.Ahmad Tabrizi the President&CoFounder of Parya Foundation present a detail report of Parya's activities since the opening of Parya centre on November 2007.

Parya’s Ski Program

Parya Foundation with participation of Ministry of Health Promotion had three ski Secessions program for adults and youths in Upland facility in Thorn hill Ontario During month of February 2009.

Parya Anniversary Gala

On Monday December 22nd, 2008, Parya Foundation organized a Gala for celebrating the first year operation of Parya Centre. Hon. Kathleen Wynne, Minister of Education, Dr. Reza Moridi, MPP-Richmond Hill, David Zimmer, MPP-Willow dale, and more than 150 guests participated at that Gala.

On Sunday December 21th.2008, Parya Foundation organized the celebration of Yalda Night, one of the most important Iranian's cultural event. That night was also an occasion to appreciate efforts and dedication of some of our volunteers.

Mastan Music Group
at Parya Centre: On Monday Nov.10-2008, Mastan Music Group participate and performed some of their music for more than 150 guest of Parya Foundation.

First Table Tennis Tournament of Parya Foundation was held at Parya centre on Sunday Nov.23-2008. At this tournament 32 persons participate in the completion.

Table Tennis Club: Table Tennis Club of Parya is held every Wednesday from 1:00-8:00pm at Parya Centre.

Book Presentation On Sunday Nov.16, 2008, Shahrvand Publication organized a Book Presentation for Eydi Nemat, Iranian Canadian Poet at Parya Centre.

Computer class Since November 2008 Parya organized Computer class (every Tuesday 3:00-4:30 pm. and every Friday 10:00-11:30 am.) for the members of Parya and other members of Iranian Community.

ESL Class Since September 2008, Parya Foundation in cooperation with York Catholic District School Board organized ESL classes at Parya Centre. The hours of ESL classes are: Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. and Monday&Wednesday from 12:30 -3:00 pm.

Seniors Program at Parya Centre every Friday from 9:00 am. To 4:00 pm.

Seminar (Dr.Abass Azadian) Every last Thursday of month from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Parya Centre.

Walking Program
Parya Foundation with participation of Ministry of Health Promotion held 14 weeks walking program for seniors. The last walking program held on Sunday October 26, 2008.

July 5, 2008 Parya Soccer courses
started at Silver Stream Park, in Richmond Hill every Saturday from 5pm-7pm until the end of September 2008. This secession of Soccer courses are supervised and coached by Mr. Bijan Azizi, who has coaching certificate "A" from FIFA & UEFA.
